Learning and Literacy Program Orientation

Please join us to learn about the L&L program at Vista Heights School. Teachers will lead a short presentation for families before providing time for a tour of the school.

Each family will receive information to support in their child’s transition to the L&L program in the fall.

Program Description

The Learning and Literacy (L&L) classes are for students in grades 4-9, identified with learning disabilities in specific literacy areas. The goal of L&L Program is to assist each student in gaining skills, knowledge and competencies to reach their academic, social, and emotional potential.

The emphasis of instruction is on developing literacy skills (reading and writing) within an inclusive classroom environment. Inclusive learning technologies, curriculum design, accommodations, and all key components of programming for students with learning disabilities are implemented based on each student’s individual needs.
